Each year, Silver Oak sets aside a small amount of wine from each vintage for our library. This creates a reserve that lasts even after the initial release sells out and gives us the ability to re-release the wine as it matures and make it available to our customers. All of these wines are bottle aged in our cellar since their release. We recently opened a bottle of the 1999 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and it is drinking beautifully.
Winemaker Daniel Baron describes the 1999 Alexander Valley as a “beautifully balanced wine with a garnet color and a complex nose of raspberries, cassis, violets, cinnamon and caramel. It is luscious and full-bodied on the palate and has a lovely fruity attack and an incredibly long-lingering finish. It will continue to improve through 2024 given proper cellaring.”Silver Oak wines are remarkably consistent, yet each vintage has its own distinctive character and style. We look forward to pouring a small amount of the 1999 Alexander Valley at Release Day on August 2nd. A limited quantity will be available for sale. We hope you enjoy this wine as much as we do.
