A New Thanksgiving Tradition with the Family of Silver Oak

We are constantly amazed by the Bottle Stories we hear from our fans. The opportunity to be a part of people’s lives and their special moments are what drive us at Silver Oak. This beautiful Bottle Story came to us from California, where Kirby reminds us all to seize the day and make the most of each moment.

Thank you, Kirby, for sharing your Bottle Story.

My husband and I moved to San Diego from the D.C. area in the summer of 2015. That Thanksgiving was our first holiday away from family. We decided to not let the distance get us down and started our own tradition celebrating Thanksgiving in Napa as we both love wine and ambiance.

During our trip, a friend took us to Silver Oak. We were blown away by the space, the vibes and (of course) the wine. We were having a wonderful time tasting the wine and enjoying great conversation when an employee brought out the 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon to try. What luck! This year holds a special place in our hearts as it is the year we fell in love.

Kirby's Silver Oak bottle story

On a whim, we bought the 2006 and stored it away until it was time to celebrate our anniversary. We took the bottle down to the beach by our home (where I snapped this picture) and started another tradition. We saved the bottle and have gone back to Silver Oak during Thanksgiving to keep our new California tradition alive.

Silver Oak made celebrating during our first year in California more special than I could have imagined. We’re loving every second of it.
