Everything You Need to Know Before Visiting Silver Oak
We hope to welcome you to the winery soon—and want you to feel prepared before your visit. Here are a few commonly asked questions.
Tip: Ask a concierge! Many wineries, like Silver Oak and Twomey, have hospitality concierges that can help you navigate your choices. Contact our team at (707) 942-7026 or reservations@silveroak.com.
How far in advance should I make a reservation?
Weekends tend to be busier than weekdays. If you’re planning a weekend visit, our Hospitality team recommends booking a month in advance.
“Plan, plan, plan,” says Janey Piggott, our reservation manager. “Harvest season and early fall are especially popular.”
If you’re planning a trip from August to early November, consider making your reservation two months out—or more. There can be a waitlist, but we’d rather confirm your experience so you don’t need to worry at the last minute.
Tip: Keep in mind that visitation rules vary from winery to winery. Some have a lenient walk-in policy, while others require an appointment. Each kind of experience has a different price, so a little bit of research can go a long way.

How much does it cost?
We offer a variety of experiences at each of our wineries. Visit our Napa Valley winery and Alexander Valley winery pages to view the different tours and tastings available.
What’s the cancellation policy?
Should you need to cancel or change your reservation, please contact us at (707) 942-7026 or reservations@silveroak.com at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled reservation.
Note: Failure to do so will result in payment of 50% of the booking(s).
What should I do if I’m running late for my reservation?
Things happen. We understand. If you’re running late for your reservation, give the tasting room a call. You can reach our Napa Valley Tasting Room at (707) 942-7022 and our Alexander Valley Tasting Room at (707) 942-7082.
Is there parking?
Yes, the Silver Oak wineries have private parking lots with ample stalls for guests. Electric vehicle charging stations are also available.
What about handicap parking?
Both Silver Oak (and Twomey) wineries are wheelchair-accessible and have reserved stalls for guests with disabled parking permits.
Are there restrooms?
Yes, there are restrooms available for tasting room guests. Ask a tasting room associate for assistance, if needed.

Where do I check in?
Upon arrival at our tasting room, please check in with the concierge located at the entrance. If there isn’t a concierge on duty, approach the bar and speak to one of our tasting room associates. Our doors are always open to you, so don’t feel like you need permission to enter.
What should I bring?
We card everyone who looks under 99 years old, so bring a valid I.D.
As a reminder, we are unable to serve wine to guests under 21 years of age.
Tip: A refillable water bottle is always a good idea—especially during the warm summer months. Remember to drink as much (or more!) water as you do wine.
Are children allowed?
Due to the nature of our tastings, we request that all guests be at least 21 years of age except for designated drivers ages 16-20.
What’s the attire?
Most of our visitors are casual-elegant in their dress, but you won’t feel out of place in jeans and a polo, either. We suggest you opt for comfort over fashion, especially for footwear. Ladies, leave your stilettos at home. Generally, close-toe shoes are best if you’ll be on any walking tours during your trip.
If you plan to take a winery tour, be aware that barrel rooms are kept cool. (For example, ours is 57 degrees.) Bring layers.
Tip: If you can’t decide what to wear, a good place for inspiration is Instagram. Take a look our location tags: “Silver Oak Cellars” for our Napa Valley Winery and “Silver Oak Cellars – Healdsburg” for our Alexander Valley Winery.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are prohibited in most areas except for ADA-certified service animals.
If traveling with dogs, please contact reservations@twomey.com for dog-friendly experiences in designated areas (available as weather permits).
Are picnic baskets allowed?
While we want you to enjoy your visit, please refrain from bringing your lunch. Outside food and picnicking are prohibited, but you can supplement a seated tasting with a Chef’s Board (in Napa Valley) or Wine Country Provisions (in Alexander Valley).
Is there music playing at the winery?
Yes, there is music playing in the Silver Oak and Twomey tasting rooms and in some of the outdoor areas.
Do you have merchandise for sale in the tasting room?
In addition to our wines (yes, you can purchase Silver Oak at Twomey and vice versa), our tasting rooms have an assortment of merchandise—more than what’s in our online shop. From decanters to apparel, there’s something for every Silver Oak fan!
Tip: Merchandise at our tasting rooms vary and is curated for the specific place.
Do you rent out the winery?
No, we do not rent out our spaces for events like birthday parties, bridal showers or photoshoots.
Can I have my wedding at the winery?
Unfortunately, we are unable to host wedding rehearsals, wedding ceremonies or wedding receptions.

Do you host events?
Our hospitality team works to provide fun, educational experiences. Although they are unable to support social events (like those listed above), they can assist with private event needs—like a business dinner.
For more information, please contact our Events team at (707) 942-7027 or events@silveroak.com.
