One Special Date, One Special Vintage and One Special Weekend

We are constantly amazed by the Bottle Stories we hear from our fans. The opportunity to be a part of people’s lives and their special moments are what drive us at Silver Oak. This beautiful Bottle Story came to us from California, where Silver Oak fans Brianna and Christopher discovered that their wedding anniversary fell on an extra special day.

As longtime fans of Silver Oak, my husband, Christopher, and I have always longed to experience a Silver Oak Release Day. But, between work, family, traveling and well, LIFE, there seemed to always be something preventing us from attending. We felt doomed!

When, just a few weeks before our fourth wedding anniversary, we realized we hadn’t yet planned anything. (How romantic of us, right? Like I said, LIFE, people!) So, we figured we should at least do a weekend somewhere to celebrate another year of wedded bliss.

Knowing Release Day is in August, I decided to take a quick peek at our trusty Silver Oak calendar hanging in the kitchen. Lo and behold: Release Day fell on our anniversary weekend! What’s more, the release was for the 2012 Alexander Valley Cabernet—the year we wed! Right then and there, we knew it was meant to be.

The event was everything we could have hoped for and more. From generous pours of Silver Oak and delectable food to meeting winemakers and being surrounded by beautiful vineyards, it was a day we’ll never forget. Of course, we made sure to stock up on plenty of 2012 Alexander Valley Cabernet before we left! We look forward to celebrating many more years together over a bottle of our favorite wine, from our most favorite year.
