A Must-Attend Wine Country Tradition

Twice a year, we celebrate Release Day—the debut of our latest vintage—with you, our Silver Oak family. Our Alexander Valley Release Day event is always the first Saturday in August, and our Napa Valley release is always the first Saturday in February. With guests visiting from every corner of the country, we recommend securing Release Day tickets early as space is limited.

Culinary Lineup

Silver Oak Executive Chef Preeti Mistry

Chef Preeti Mistry leads the culinary vision across our Silver Oak Culinary Team and Release Day experiences. A James Beard Award–winning chef, author, and host of the James Beard Foundation–recognized podcast Loading Dock Talks, Preeti is the co-founder of the acclaimed Juhu Beach Club and co-author of The Juhu Beach Club Cookbook. With appearances on Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain, Netflix’s Waffles & Mochi, and Top Chef, Preeti brings a nationally recognized voice, bold perspective, and deep sense of craft to every Silver Oak table.

Chef Kim Alter of Nightbird

Chef Kim Alter is the chef and owner of Nightbird and EarlyBird Hospitality in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley. A James Beard Award nominee and StarChefs Sustainable Chef of the Year, she is known for her modern, seasonally driven approach to California cuisine rooted in whole-animal cookery and strong relationships with local farms. With experience in some of the Bay Area’s most acclaimed kitchens—including Manresa, Ubuntu, Aqua, and Acquerello—Chef Alter brings bold creativity and thoughtful craftsmanship to every dish. We are honored to welcome her to Oakville.

Chef Dominica Rice-cisneros of bombera

Chef Dominica Rice-Cisneros is the chef and owner of Bombera, a Michelin Guide–recognized restaurant in Oakland celebrating Mexican American culture and Chicana heritage cooking. Named one of Eater San Francisco’s “Female Titans of the Bay Area Food Scene,” she is a James Beard Award semifinalist and the former chef-owner of the beloved Cosecha Café. With over 30 years of experience and training under culinary icons including Alice Waters at Chez Panisse, Dominica brings a deeply personal, ingredient-driven approach rooted in tradition, community, and craft. We’re thrilled to welcome her to Release Day.

About Release Day

What's included in my ticket purchase?

On Release Day, you’ll receive responsible pours of the new release, the 2021 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

There will also be live music, as well as delicious bites from Chef Preeti Mistry of the Silver Oak culinary team, Chef Dominica Rice-Cisneros of Bombera in Oakland, Chef Kim Alter of Nightbird in San Francisco—and more!

Release Day attendees will enjoy access to exclusive bottle engraving and personalization, offered only at the event.

Where is Release Day?

Our Release Day event will be held at the Silver Oak Napa Valley Winery at 915 Oakville Cross Road in Oakville, CA.

Where do I park?

We will have complimentary valet, as there will be limited parking at the winery on Release Day. Parking on Money Road (off Oakville Cross Road) is an option, too, and
we’ll have shuttles running up and down the driveway throughout the day.

The recommended option, though, is to use a rideshare service (like Lyft or Uber) or private driver.

When does Release Day start?

Check-in begins 30 minutes prior to each session.

Are children allowed?

All guests must be at least 21 years of age.

Are pets allowed?

Animals are prohibited in most areas except for ADA-certified service animals.

If I can’t make it to Release Day, how can I purchase?

Our 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon will become available in our Shop to all on February 7.

A Silver Oak Tradition

It all began as an informal gathering of loyal and dedicated Silver Oak fans in the 1980s, eager to acquire large format bottles of the latest vintage and celebrate in style. Today, Silver Oak wine release events are a Wine Country cultural phenomenon, featuring local chefs and live music.
